The PCBU’s primary duty

Ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers and others affected by the work — identifying hazards, controlling risks, and checking the controls work.

HS-02
Officers’ due diligence

Directors and senior managers must understand the risks of the operation and make sure the resources and processes to manage them are in place and used. That takes evidence, not assurances.

Worker engagement and participation

Workers must be engaged on health and safety matters and have practical ways to raise concerns and contribute to improvements.

Not to meet the law. The Health and Safety at Work Act sets the duties; ISO 45001 is a voluntary, certified way of managing them. It earns its place when clients, tenders or prequalification ask for it. We’ll recommend the lightest route that does the job.
