CONTRACTOR PREQUALIFICATION · TŌTIKA · SITEWISE · SHE PREQUAL

Tōtika and SiteWise prequalification, prepared properly.

Councils, main contractors and asset owners increasingly want a current health and safety prequalification before you can quote. We build the safety system behind it — policies, risk registers, procedures and records — and help you assemble the evidence for your Tōtika, SiteWise or SHE Prequal submission. You submit; the scheme’s assessors decide.

WHAT WE DO

The system, the records, and the evidence.

PQ-01
A safety system that stands up

Health and safety policy, roles and responsibilities, hazard and risk register, safe work method statements, and an incident and corrective-action process — built around how your crews actually work.

PQ-02
Registers and records

Training and competency register, plant and equipment checks, site inductions, toolbox talks and subcontractor management — the records assessors ask to see, kept current.

PQ-03
Evidence for the submission

Each question in your chosen scheme mapped to the document or record that answers it, so the submission is complete, consistent and easy to keep up to date at renewal.

SEQUENCE — FROM REQUEST TO SUBMISSION

Four steps, from your client’s request to your submission.

STEP 01
Confirm what’s being asked

Which scheme your clients accept, which level, and what you already hold.

STEP 02
Gap review

Your current documents and records against the scheme’s questions.

STEP 03
Build & implement

Policies, registers and procedures written around your work — and in use.

STEP 04
Assemble the evidence

An evidence pack organised question by question; you submit to the scheme.

Q&A — CONTRACTOR PREQUALIFICATION

Tōtika is New Zealand’s cross-industry health and safety prequalification scheme, developed by CHASNZ (Construction Health and Safety New Zealand). It sets a common standard for prequalification, so a current assessment from a Tōtika-accredited provider can be recognised by many clients instead of a different questionnaire for each one.

The one your clients ask for. Councils and main contractors each name the prequalification they accept, and many accept more than one. Check the tender or contractor requirements first — we can help you read them and choose.

No. Kaizen is an independent consultancy with no affiliation to any prequalification scheme or provider. We help you build the system and prepare the evidence; the scheme’s own assessors make the assessment.

No one honestly can — the result is the assessor’s decision. What we make sure of is that your system is real, your records are current and every question has evidence behind it.

Often. A certified ISO 45001 system covers much of what prequalification asks, and some clients accept it as evidence in its own right. It is a bigger step than prequalification, so we’ll tell you on the call whether it’s worth it for the work you’re chasing.

NEXT STEP
