Transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001:2018

Asbestos removal companies are required to hold a certified Safety Management System as defined in the Asbestos Regulations 2016. The widely used Occupational and Safety Management Systems Standard (OHSAS) 18001 is now officially superseded by ISO 45001:2018. Organisations certified to OHSAS 18001 have until 12 of March 2021 to transition their Management System to ISO 45001 in order to keep their asbestos removal Class A license.

A third-party auditor will then verify if your management system conforms with ISO 45001:2018 Standards and Asbestos Regulations and award certification after successful demonstration of compliance.
